ArcMeter
Local-first usage metering · Public product
A desktop usage meter that reads local developer-tool telemetry, compares measured token usage, and keeps a privacy-safe ledger across providers.
Inside the product
How it works
Run the desktop app and enable the local collectors you use.
Scan authoritative telemetry into the local ledger without collecting prompt or response content.
Inspect overview trends and activity by provider, project, model, or device.
Configure subscriptions and optional metadata-only sync; estimated API value is not a bill.
What it solves
Usage is scattered across coding tools and devices. ArcMeter separates measured tokens from estimates and activity so a developer can inspect what the source actually reports.
Capabilities
- Read-only collectors for Codex, Claude Code, Grok Build, and Gemini CLI
- Overview trends and breakdowns by provider, model, project, and device
- Local SQLite ledger with optional metadata-only cross-device sync
- Subscription settings and estimated API value kept distinct from actual charges
Where it gets hard
- Different tools expose different telemetry and measurement detail
- Sync must exclude prompts, responses, source code, commands, secrets, and absolute paths
In the loop
ArcMeter measures usage of AI tools; it does not need a model to collect or count the source telemetry.
The developer chooses sources, subscriptions, device names, and whether to enable optional sync.
